Dapeng Fortress
大鹏所城
A six-hundred-year-old walled garrison town at the far end of the peninsula.
You get Ming dynasty walls, narrow lanes and the old houses of Qing naval officers. Most people carry around a Shenzhen that is forty years old, and the fortress is the reminder that the place was here long before that.
Combine it with a beach on the same peninsula and make a full day of it.
